Last weekend was a perfect time for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the beautiful weather in Lake Tahoe, but it was also a great weekend to go see the stars at Edgewood Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe. Pro athletes and professional actors all gathered to test their golf skills at the annual American Century Golf Championship at Edgewood Golf Course and visitors were treated to an awesome week of getting to see the stars. Many of these stars were happy to sign autographs just like we see Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo doing in the above picture. I go to this tournament every year and it never gets old meeting Hall of Fame inductees like Emmitt Smith and Charles Barkley, along with the thrill of meeting super stars like Greg Maddux, A.J. Hawk, Jerome Bettis, Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers and so many more celebrities.

A.J. Hawk is an inside linebacker for the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers, and this past weekend he was one of many celebrities to participate in the American Century Golf Tournament. Having guys like A.J. Hawk at the tournament is a real treat because he is so friendly with the crowds that flock to the golf tournament.

NCAA Championship quarterback Tim Tebow came to Lake Tahoe to participate in his first Celebrity Golf Tournament and the crowds were glad he came. Tim Tebow was a first round draft pick last year for the Denver Broncos and is looking like he will be the franchise quarterback that the Denver Broncos have been lacking ever since John Elway retired. Tim was very friendly with the crowd at the tournament and spectators flocked to meet this up and coming NFL quarterback.

Retired NBA superstar Charles Barkley has become a familiar face here in Lake Tahoe at the American Century Golf Tournament. The famous ex-basketball player who was once known as a terror on the court with a grizzled attitude that struck fear into opposing players, is now one of the friendliest faces at the tournament. Charles Barkley always seems happy to visit with the crowds at the Celebrity Golf Tournament and he spends much of his time allowing visitors to talk with him and get his autograph. He was a great player in the NBA and now he's a great tournament favorite.

This is why the tournament is such a treat, every year a new star comes to Tahoe to participate in the Celebrity Golf Tournament. And this year crowds were delighted to get to see NFL Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith. During his playing days in Dallas he was the best running back in the NFL and still holds the rushing record to this day. Emmitt was another athletic star that was great with the crowd and talked with the visitors and seemed happy to sign autographs.

Crowds got to visit with this friendly NFL super-star and receive autographs as he was very sociable and happy to talk with the gathered crowds at the Celebrityy Golf Tournament.
